Artists and Society, Tate’s Modern new rehung that will be replacing Poetry & Dreams from the end of November 2015, marks two of the institution’s major concerns since it opened 15 years ago. Namely: the expansion of its collection towards contemporary and emerging art from around the world and a pro-womam agenda.
Monographic displays of women artists will replace the classical pairings and a focus on the international exchanges between Europe, the Us and the neglected rest of the world, the commentary on one of the seminal movements of the 20th century: Surrealism
