Interview with Jin Qingqin, Deputy Director of the Shangshang Museum (Sunshine International Art Museum)

Shangshang Museum (Sunshine International Art Museum) is the biggest private non-for-profit art museum in China. It was founded in 2007 by the chief director Li Guangming who is also an artist of contemporary Chinese ink. The museum is based in Songzhuang, the largest art district across Asia, occupying 40,000 square metres of land, of which 20,000 square metres are exhibition areas. The purpose of this museum is to help develop healthy and substantial Chinese contemporary art. Shangshang presents diversified artworks and exhibitions curated by top curators and critics; it provides functional studios for artists; it establishes a database for international contemporary art with a regularly updated archive of artists and collections.
