Amid the programming of Response to a Request (or spasm of the soul), Elizabeth Xi Bauer was delighted to host the Patrons of the Royal Academy of Arts for a drinks reception and private tour of the exhibition.

Led by Royal Academician and curator of Response to a Request (or spasm of the soul), Brian Griffiths, the visit introduced Patrons to the exhibition’s literary and theatrical points of departure, providing special insight into the curatorial framework on display.

Among those in attendance were exhibiting artists Cathie Pilkington, Richard Kirwan, Judith Dean, Hamish Pearch, Eleanor Stanley, and Sarah Jones; all of whom hold their own relationship with the Royal Academy. In conversation with Patrons, the artists discussed their respective contributions to the exhibition and the ways in which their practices intersect with Griffiths’ curatorial approach.

The evening offered Patrons an opportunity to directly engage with Response to a Request (or spasm of the soul) through dialogue with the curator, artists, and the Elizabeth Xi Bauer team. Such events reflect the gallery’s mission to foster cutting-edge contemporary art and cultivate meaningful exchange between institutions and audiences that share this commitment. Elizabeth Xi Bauer extends sincere gratitude to all involved.
