Elizabeth Xi Bauer is thrilled to announce Abraham Kritzman as the latest artist to participate in the gallery’s ongoing Deptford Studio residency programme. Kritzman is developing a new body of work for his upcoming solo exhibition at Elizabeth Xi Bauer, Deptford, scheduled to open in April 2026.
Kritzman’s multidisciplinary practice centres on an immersive language expressed through painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Inspired by walking journeys, his work merges mythical narratives, human imagery, architecture, and landscape to create layered and dynamic compositions. Over the course of his residency, the artist will create a new series of sculptures and paintings, further developing his practice.
This upcoming exhibition marks the latest development in Kritzman’s longstanding relationship with Elizabeth Xi Bauer. First featured in the 2016 group show Coated in Pre-existence, the artist has since participated in several solo, duo, and group exhibitions spanning nearly a decade. Kritzman’s solo exhibition within the gallery programme in 2026 expresses our mission to foster cutting-edge contemporary art and support our artists in evolving their practice alongside the gallery’s expanding vision. The residency programme at our Deptford location offers both national and international artists the time, space, and freedom to develop their ideas in a supportive and creatively vibrant environment.
